# What you'll need:

→ Fresh Fruits

01 - 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
02 - 1 cup watermelon, cut into small heart shapes
03 - 1 cup cantaloupe or honeydew, cut into small heart shapes
04 - 1 cup seedless grapes, halved
05 - 1 kiwi, peeled and sliced
06 - 1/2 cup blueberries

→ Honey Lime Dressing

07 - 2 tablespoons honey
08 - 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
09 - 1 teaspoon finely grated lime zest

→ Garnish

10 - 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, chopped

# Directions:

01 - Use small heart-shaped cookie cutters to cut watermelon and cantaloupe or honeydew into heart shapes. Slice strawberries, optionally cutting some slices into heart shapes as well. Combine all prepared fruits including halved grapes, sliced kiwi, and blueberries in a large mixing bowl.
02 - In a small bowl, whisk together honey, fresh lime juice, and grated lime zest until completely smooth and well combined.
03 - Pour the honey lime dressing over the prepared fruit mixture. Gently toss using a folding motion to coat all fruit pieces evenly without mashing delicate fruits.
04 - Sprinkle chopped fresh mint leaves over the top of the fruit salad. Serve immediately for optimal freshness, or refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The honey lime dressing strikes that perfect balance between sweet and bright, making every fruit taste like its best version
  • It comes together in twenty minutes but looks like you spent way more time thinking about it
02 -
  • The fruit releases its own juice as it sits, so do not add the dressing more than two hours before serving or it will become too watery
  • Softer fruits like bananas and peaches do not hold up well in this salad, so stick to firmer fruits that can handle the tossing
03 -
  • Room temperature fruit absorbs the dressing better than fruit straight from the refrigerator
  • A microplane makes the finest lime zest without getting into the bitter white pith underneath
